FAQ's

Who should get their eyes checked?

This is the simplest question of all to answer - almost everyone will benefit from a regular comprehensive eye examination.

So whether you are 3 or 103 we would recommend that you get your eyes checked regularly.

So if it's been a while since your last examination, or maybe you have never taken your child for an examination then it's time you gave VT Clinic a call...

My child has already had a 'test' at school - do they need another test?

Again the answer is a definite YES

- according to data from the Association of Optometrists, it is estimated that 20% of school children have an undiagnosed eye condition.

That's  an average of 1 in 5 school children!!

Many children with these conditions will appear be 'symptom free' and therefore it is really important that they have a regular comprehensive eye examination even if you think that their vision is ok.

The quicker that we check their vision and pick up any existing conditions then the quicker that we can help them and improve their life (and potentially their educational performance).

Are all Eye Examinations the same?

We are fortunate in the UK that all Eye Examinations carried out by a Registered Optician have to meet a minimum standard, but (as with most things in life) there will always be some variation and we would always recommend a VT Clinic comprehensive eye examination.

Our Hospital trained clinicians will examine your (or your child's) vision.

Some of our clinicians also hold additional qualifications in Paediatric Optometry and all of our clinics are equipped with the latest software and diagnostic equipment.

These include Test Charts designed for children including 'non-verbal' charts, Colorimeters, Topographers, IR Eye Tracking suites and Biometers and other clinical measuring systems.

In fact some of our equipment is so specialised that you will only find it in a handful of practices here in the UK.

So why not give us a call and book an appointment today?

Do you offer NHS Examinations?

VT Clinic is a privately run clinic.

Many of the services that we provide are unfortunately not available on the NHS.

However, this also allows us to ensure that we give each and every patient plenty of time with our clinical specialists and we are able to equip our clinics with the very latest technology and a great team of clinicians who will ensure that you receive the very best of care.

These high clinical standards are just one of the many factors that have kept our clinics busy since our inception in 1984.
